How to choose UPVC pipe pressure level?

Selection of pipe pressure level = pipeline working pressure + about 0.3MPa water hammer pressure + 0.1∽0.2MPa safety margin.


Example: a pipeline working pressure of 0.4MPa, should choose what pressure level of pipe?

Calculation method is as follows:

     a. Use pressure = 0.4MPa

     b. Water hammer pressure = 0.3MPa

     c. Safety factor = 0.1-0.2MPa

     d. Pressure rating = 0.4 + 0.3 + 0.1 = 0.8MPa

Conclusion: Pipe with a nominal pressure of 0.8MPa or more should be selected.
